Dimitrios Trigonis - Δημήτριος Τριγώνης

Mr.Trigonis was born in Skopelos, an island in Greece. He grew up in

Korridallos, Piraeus where he lived until the age of 20. He immigrated

to the United States where he met his future wife Efrosine. They married

and resided in Bridgeport Connecticut. He has two sons Tom and Steve and four

grandchildren. His Wife passed away in June of 2002.

The death of his wife inspired him to write poetry. He published a book

named “LONELINESS MY BITTER LOVER” an anthology of poems in both Greek and

English, dedicated to the memory of his wife. The English translation was

done with his children and grandchildren in mind wanting to leave them a

spiritual inheritance

After half a century away from his native Greece he remains a dedicated

lover of the Hellenic language. He still uses, in his book a combination of

literary and demotic languages using all the symbols of accent and breathing

system (Polytonic system.) Presently he is working on a novel.

He is a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where his wife was a

lifetime member. He still sings in the choir, is also a member of the

Cantors Choir, the Hellenic chorale and the separate choir of men that

performs neo-Byzantine music and nostalgic songs from his Homeland. He is

also a member of The Hellenic cultural association of Bridgeport Connecticut
